MHFA Two-Day Course Content:

Over two days, you’ll also gain understanding, knowledge and skills in the following areas:

Using Mental Health First Aid for a range of situations
Understand mental health conditions such as:
anxiety, depression, personality disorders, eating disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and psychosis.
Risk factors will be explored
Mental health stigma and discrimination. Exploration around how it presents and how to combat it.
Knowledge to help someone recover their mental health by signposting them to further support: self-help, counsellor/ therapist, HR/ employer, the NHS
Learning about key suicide figures as well as first aid for suicidal crisis
Self-harming behaviours and an understanding of crisis intervention
Self-care techniques and other mental health skills such as non-judgemental listening
How alcohol and drugs can impact on mental health
An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that affect wellbeing
Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of poor mental health
Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
Develop skills such as non-judgemental listening

LENGTH

Delivered over two days from 9am – 5pm on both days plus morning and afternoon break and 45 mins for lunch.

COST

£325 per person.

Can be delivered online or in-person and is a mix of instructor-led sessions, discussions and group activities.

Groups sizes are kept to a maximum number
of 16 per course but most courses are smaller than this.
